What you’re getting into with Rejoice
Unfold with Christ – Music and Creativity
There is enormous creative potential in every human being – including you. More than you might think. God, who created us, is immeasurably creative. By becoming creative, we realize what we are called to do: To be God’s images.
Music
There is a lot of music at Rejoice. Those who play an instrument or love to sing have many opportunities to use their talent: in liturgy, in mission, or simply for the joy of the community. Concrete training sessions in choir or individual singing, as well as times to practice your own instrument, will help you get better at what you’ve been given.
Become creative
Whether media work, photography or video shooting, whether theater or dance – concrete projects and stage performances give you plenty of room to discover and develop your gifts. In theory and practice you will learn how to use all this to give glory to God.
Learn from Christ – Training
“I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6). The training at Rejoice is the chance to learn much more about God and yourself. Whether basic questions of faith or practical life topics on communication and life design – the classes give you orientation for your personal path.
Highly qualified speakers from all over the world will share their knowledge and experience with you in a practical way. They come from different fields of activity and share one longing: to live as witnesses of Christ in their environment and to pass on their skills. They will be available to answer your questions in teaching sessions and discussion groups.
Grow with Christ – Community
Christ is not calling you alone. Young adults from different nations set out together on this exciting journey. Everyone brings their talents and cultural imprint. Rejoice is a journey of growth in love for one another, for oneself, and for all people.
Sharing life experience
“Whoever loves God must also love his brother and sister” (1 John 4:21). Community life is part of the formation. Whether praying, dancing, or cleaning, unity is built among us in everything. Through challenges, we learn to rise above ourselves and deal with weaknesses.
Internationality
The cultural diversity of the community broadens our horizons. Through daily togetherness and special events (e.g. country evenings) we encounter each other’s individual character – with its riches and difficulties. Together we build a network and become bridge builders in Europe and beyond.
Josefsburg
This venerable building (15th century) serves as our home and missionary training center at the same time. In addition to single rooms, students have access to many rooms for training and creative development (including a recording studio, video studio, band cellar, library, creative room). The chapel invites you to pause for a moment at any time.
Encounter Christ – Prayer
We long for a personal relationship and encounter with Jesus. His Word and Spirit set us free. He alone leads us to the Father. From Him we receive our identity and deepest confirmation. On His Word we build our lives.
Daily encounter
Prayer is at the heart of the year. It is “a conversation with a friend with whom we often and gladly come together to talk because He loves us” (Teresa of Avila). Daily we begin the day with joyful praise and place ourselves under the loving gaze of Jesus. We celebrate Holy Mass and spend time in personal encounter with God.
Going deeper
Special days of retreat and reflection teach us to hear God’s voice better and to learn to pray more deeply. Regular moments of silence help us to step back in order to go deeper.
Go for Christ – Mission
Christ’s love urges us to live not only for ourselves, but to carry His grace into the world, especially to the poor.
Leave your comfort zone
“Go out where it is deep and cast your nets for a catch!” (Luke 5:4). Jesus needs you. He calls you to go with Him and for Him into today’s world. Through missionary outreach, you learn to go out and meet people. You will discover what God’s grace can do from our small steps of faith and some poverty, and what joy it brings to carry God’s love into the world.
Encounter and dialogue
For us, mission means encounter and dialogue. You will meet new people, with their experiences of God, life situations, expectations and doubts. You will give and be given. Their questions will take you deeper and further on your own faith journey.
Whether on the street, in schools, social institutions or in the virtual world – everywhere there are opportunities for encounters that make us bolder and freer and let us grow in our love for people and in our zeal to spread the Word of God.
